A total of 24 projects, out of the 60 initiatives received from Galicia and the north of Portugal, have been shortlisted to participate in the Sherpa do Mar entrepreneurship support program, Sherpa Journeys, which will announce the name of the 12 finalists at the beginning of December.
To access the program, these candidates must first pass a personal interview with consultants specialized in technology and knowledge transfer, in which the innovative nature of the initiatives, the response they offer to real needs in the marine-maritime field, the potential market, as well as its technical and economic viability will be highly valued.
In the score that will be taken as a reference to select the finalist projects, the conclusions drawn from this meeting will represent 30%, while the remaining 70% will be conditioned by the project presented itself.
Among the shortlisted projects, most are in the prototyping phase (46%) and conception (38%), although there are also, to a lesser extent, entrepreneurial initiatives in the product launch phase, growth phase or with a current presence in the market. Around 70% of the proposals have a global scope, while the remaining 30% are directed at the European, national, regional or local level.
Once the selection process is finished, the 12 finalist projects will access the Sherpa Journeys program, whose main objective is to promote the creation of innovative products and services that provide high value-added solutions to real needs in the marine-maritime field, to receive support and personalized scientific-technical advice that allows them to consolidate their development and growth.
