Activities

To achieve the Sherpa do Mar objectives, 6 activities have been defined:

  • 4 operational activities (1 to 4)
  • 2 transversal activities dedicated to management and communication (5 and 6)

Regarding operational activities, Activity 4 consists of implementing the monitoring, follow-up and support methodology for technology-based entrepreneurship and improving the competitiveness of the business fabric linked to the marine sector -maritime, called "Sherpa Journeys". activities 1, 2 and 3 include the necessary actions for the design of said methodology, called "Sherpa Journeys" and the preparation of the necessary tools for its implementation.

Participatory sectoral assessment and identification of potential actors that will form the Sherpa do Mar Euroregional platform.

The main objective of this activity is to establish the starting point for the constitution of a Euroregional Platform that promotes competitiveness in the marine-maritime field. To do this, first, the following actions will be carried out:

ACTION 1.1.- Diagnosis of the marine-maritime sector, focusing on the field of technology-based companies.

A sector diagnosis focused on entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship and technological intensity of the productive fabric will be prepared (main actors and institutions involved, initiatives related to entrepreneurship, technological performance, etc.).

ACTION 1.2.- Identification of needs and sharing of support programs for entrepreneurship / intrapreneurship in the marine-maritime field for their coordination.

Starting from the previous diagnosis and counting on the opinion of the key actors in the marine-maritime sector, the results obtained will be shared and the existing needs will be identified, seeking the most appropriate way of providing them with coverage, enhancing existing synergies .

ACTION 1.3.- Development of the i-Sherpa technology platform.

A web platform will be developed that will allow the monitoring of the projects valued in activity 4, the dissemination of events related to the project among the participants, the public dissemination of information on the status of project execution and will serve as support for the conducting online training.

Consolidation of the Sherpa do Mar Euroregional platform and design of a new methodology for monitoring and promoting innovative technology-based companies (Sherpa Journeys).

Activity 2 will aim to shape the Sherpa do Mar platform.

ACTION 2.1.- Development of an operational plan for the coordination of existing initiatives.

An operational plan will be prepared that will establish the framework of actions necessary for the coordination of the existing initiatives identified in Activity 1.

ACTION 2.2.- Definition of a panel of indicators and development of the system for measuring and monitoring performance and performance in (intra) entrepreneurship processes.

A measurement system will be designed to monitor the evolution of the selected entrepreneurship support processes.

ACTION 2.3.- Development of the descriptive methodology Sherpa Journeys for the choice of initiatives / programs, formation of multidisciplinary teams and support to the specialist Sherpa Knowledge Transfer (SKT). ​​

Activity 2 is completed with the development of a methodology that will establish how the itineraries will be defined for each entrepreneur / company in addition to integrating the control panel in order to take advantage of the initiatives previously identified.

Scientific-technical support and transfer promotion program.

In the Galicia - North of Portugal cooperation space there are important research centers and knowledge-gathering entities in the marine-maritime field. However, there is also significant potential for improvement in the way that entrepreneurs can access the topics and content of the multiple lines of research that take place in the marine region in the Euroregion and have scientific advice- high-level technician for the development and implementation of your business initiatives with a high technological component and added value.

The main objective of this activity is to enhance the mechanisms for transferring the knowledge generated by the members of the consortium to the business fabric.

ACTION 3.1.- Bringing knowledge together: Identification of capacities and competences of the universities belonging to the Galicia-North of Portugal, with application to the marine-maritime field.

Information on the current and future lines of research carried out by the entities / research centers participating in the project (UVIGO, USC, UDC, UPORTO and CIIMAR) will be identified and collected, as well as knowledge already consolidated and its possible applicability to the market.

ACTION 3.2.-Development of the scientific-technical advisory program aimed at improving the competitiveness of the marine-maritime sector.

Once the capacities and competences of universities and research centers in action 3.1 have been identified, a system will be designed to facilitate entrepreneurs' access to specialized scientific-technical advice in the marine-maritime field for the development of their ideas of business. With this objective, transfer technicians from the Universities and Research Centers will be appointed and will be supported by the SHERPA DO MAR ecosystem knowledge map to adequately and efficiently channel scientific-technical queries that entrepreneurs have in the framework of activity 4.

This service is not one-way, it will also provide information on market demands and trends to researchers interested in transferring knowledge, either by themselves, or through companies or potential entrepreneurs (generation of spin-offs).

Implementation of the Sherpa Journeys methodology for valuation of innovative technology-based business projects.

The main objective of this activity is to implement and consolidate the methodologies, tools and coordination structures necessary for the perfect functioning of the Sherpa Framework, and which were already designed and developed in activities 1, 2 and 3. The works to be carried out in this activity will range from selecting and valuing the candidate projects (entrepreneurship and promoting competitiveness), to laying the foundations for the sustainability of the Sherpa Framework in the future.

ACTION 4.1.- Selection of business projects for their valorization.

This action will identify the projects (entrepreneurship and promotion of competitiveness) to incorporate in the Sherpa Framework. On the one hand, the project partners will disseminate an internal call for the selection of technology-based business projects. On the other hand, for the selection of already established companies, the Euroregion database of innovative companies will be used.

ACTION 4.2.- Valuation: launch of new initiatives of the entrepreneurial project and implementation of the indicator system through the Sherpa Journeys methodology.

The implementation will be made tangible through the processes of valuing business ideas and promoting the competitiveness of SMEs identified as priorities according to the objectives of this project.

ACTION 4.3.- Development of a sustainability plan for the Sherpa do Mar Euroregional platform.

Regarding the consolidation of this initiative, it will materialize in a Sherpa platform sustainability plan.

Management and Coordination.

The objective of this transversal activity is to develop and execute a management system that ensures adequate compliance with the planned activities throughout the duration of the project.

Two actions have been defined for this:

ACTION 5.1. Coordination and strategic and technical management of the project.

ACTION 5.2. Coordination and economic-administrative management of the project.

Communication.

The main objective of the communication plan will be to give visibility in the project's action territories to the support that the European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund ERDF and the Interreg VA Spain-Portugal Program (POCTEP) 2014-2020 , gives its regional development.

Specific objectives:

  1. Promote the activities of the project among the direct recipients (entrepreneurs, companies and the university community) and indirect (society in general) to encourage their participation in such activities.
  2. Promote cross-border cooperation and generate interest among all the actors linked to the marine-maritime environment of the Euroregion in order for them to participate in the project to a greater or lesser extent.
  3. Publicize the services offered and the advantages provided by the application of the Sherpa Journeys methodology, to attract entrepreneurial projects from the marine-maritime sector and pre-existing companies that can develop their competitiveness.
  4. Transfer and capitalization of expected results and good practices identified for dissemination in the territories of action.
