SHERPA DO MAR CELEBRATES THE III UNIVERSITY-INDUSTRY MEETING WITH OUTSTANDING SPEAKERS ON INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN THE FIELD OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF HIGH-VALUE-ADDED PRODUCTS AND SERVICES AND OPEN NETWORKING DAYS

Sherpa do Mar will hold from December 13 to 15 and online, the III University-Industry Meeting, which will bring together leading experts from Galicia and Northern Portugal in the field of developing high value-added products and services, as well as meetings Business to Business (B2B) open to companies, the research community and individuals.

The objective of the conference is to create a meeting point between the research community and the business world, in which the transfer of knowledge is promoted as a source of improving competitiveness in the marine-maritime sector of the Euroregion Galicia-North of Portugal . Also to promote the detection of new opportunities, markets and business or collaboration channels, in addition to bringing the business world and society closer to the scientific community.

In this sense and during the B2B meetings, in which more than fifty people have already registered, attendees will have the opportunity to connect with managers of the knowledge and technology transfer offices of the three Galician universities, the University of Porto and the CIIMAR research center. They will be able to make inquiries about trends in science and technology and research results applicable to the market.

The main day of the event will take place on December 14 and will address topics such as new products and services developed in the maritime-maritime field, technological innovation and new business models or the use of natural resources.

Speakers such as Patricia Fernández Liz, director of the services area of ​​the Axencia Galega de Innovación who will present the Galician network of entrepreneurship accelerators and the Consolidation Strategy of the Galician Biotechnology sector 2021-2025, Tania Tato, will participate in the conference. from the Campus do Mar of the University of Vigo, which will present the project for the BLUEBIOLAB Transboundary Marine Biotechnology Laboratory; Jorge Sineiro, partner and technical manager of Celtalga Extract, S.L., who will explain the developments that are being carried out in the field of cosmetics obtained from microalgae; Elisabete Matos, technical-scientific coordinator of the Blue Bioeconomy CoLAB of Portugal, who will describe the main challenges of the blue bioeconomy; Lucía Castro, manager of the Galician Digital Innovation Hub, DIH DATAlife, who will talk about the services for the digitization of the sea-industry sector and the coordinator of entrepreneurship, innovation, investment and financing of the blue economy of the Fórum Oceano, Rubén Eiras, who will present the Portugal Blue Digital Hub. The program will be completed by Diego Méndez, research staff of the Sustainability and Circular Economy Division of Anfaco-Cecopesca, who will talk about the valorization of burrowing algae within the framework of the ALEHOOP project, Joana Laranjeira, Director of R&D and plant of Allmicroalgae - Natural Products S.A. which will explain the industrial-scale cultivation of microalgae for food applications carried out in the Algavalor project and Carlos Esteban, partner of the Faber Blue Pioneers venture capital fund, who will close the interventions by presenting the financing opportunities of blue economy companies.

The day will end with the pitch of some of the projects that are being accelerated in the Sherpa do Mar entrepreneurship support program, Sherpa Journeys, such as SUBGO, Valbiosea, ActiveAlgae (Fykia Biotech) and North Wind Sailing for Science.
